Most people think that only 1 or 2 types of fasting exist, but that is far from correct. A fast is essentially abstaining from a type of food.

Water Fasting

This is the most common type of fast. It can also have many variations that include having zero calorie liquids (coffee, tea, diet soda, powerade zero), gum, or even celery (the one true zero calorie food).

Intermittent Fasting

This is what I like to call a dinner fast. Its basically where you only eat during a certain window of time. For example, I could eat from 4pm-8pm and be doing a 20 hour fast in between it, but be careful because you can consume a lot of calories in a short amount of time. (Also, according to science this helps your system to liberate and break down saved adipose cells for energy, and helps to regulate the blood sugar levels.)

The Fruits and Vegetables Fast

According to science, getting raw fruits, veggies, and salads helps your system to eliminate the poisonous waste materials. With the intake of fruits and vegetables there’s less consumption of calories. During this fast steer clear of an excessive amount of ingestion of starchy foods. (taken from some website meant for overweight soccer moms)

Liquids Only

This is basically self-explanatory and involves consuming only liquids but requires control and strict rules. Is a milkshake a liquid cause you can drink it from a straw? maybe,  it is it allowed? maybe. Make sure to come up with guidelines before attempting.

Dry Fasting

This is very dangerous and I strongly advise everyone not to attempt it with exercise or for more than 24 hours. Depriving your body of water is very harmful and basically useless because water is essential. Im only posting it so I can tell you NOT to do it.

Mono Diet

Monos are basically allowing yourself only one food. I don’t call this a fast but I know some people do. Iv heard mixed results with this but if anyone tries it then let me know what you think.
